November 8, 2003 Update. More content added
While going over the site yesterday, I realized that it could use a bit more content. Add to that the fact that I had some time to kill today, the newly arrived laptop from Dell sitting on my desk beckoning me, and the fact that I am going to have to start using it in the site if I want to make sure that our friends at the IRS don't mind the laptop deduction created a powerful concoction that prompted me to actually get out of bed and write a few articles today.
I had an objective, but no plan. Believe it or not is hard to come up with content about a commercial lending site, without sounding too repetitious. I mean a loan is a loan and that is it. Granted that the loans can change in characteristics a lot, but essentially they are all the same at heart. So I am sitting there thinking what the next topic should be and an idea occurs! This week, the powers that be of my employer, in their infinite wisdom, decided to send a few of the Senior Credit Analysts to a refresher course. Don't get me wrong, I am the first person to vote for some training if it means leaving the cubicle for a while, but this training involved driving 25 miles to a branch instead of doing it in the main office. Naturally, the driving was in the opposite direction of my house so this added more than an hour to my commute time.
Nevertheless, the refresher course while not providing any new information, gave me some writing ideas. The following article/summaries on commercial real estate lending are the result, I hope you find them useful.

June 20 2003 Update. Making your small business look good to a lender.
I had some time to kill today and decided to write a little article about business financial statements and how they can be improved. Taking into consideration that the lender is going to base its decision on them, it is important to put your best possible face forward. You can find the article here

May 2003 Updates. Added 25 pages to the site.
In the last 7 months, I have received over a hundred questions regarding business loans and real estate investment loans. However, the forum is not really search engine friendly and people were having a hard time reaching the information. Therefore, I extracted 25 of the oldest topics and exported the info into new pages that are online. You can find them here
