Looking for information

Posted by: QuickQuestion Nov 14 2004, 09:59 PM
Hello,

I am looking to put together a fairly large development deal. I am new to the business. I am looking to build 18,000 square feet and the total cost of the project is currently estimated at $6MM. I am able to raise roughly $.8 - $1MM from investors. This project started because of an incredible interest by friends and family in these units and I can pre-sell as many units as required. I have good credit but no net worth. I am looking for as much information on this subject as possible and would love the recommendation of good books.

Thanks in advance,
An Aspiring Developer

Well if you can pre-sell as many units as required maybe your calling should be that of a realtor and forget about this development thing. smile.gif

Getting serious now, I have not read this book myself, but people have commented that it is good:

Construction Funding: Real Estate Development, Appraisal, and Finance

Personally, I don’t think anything beats experience. The problem is getting yourself situated so that you can get it.
