Frank:
I hope you don’t mind, but I noticed that you had two different questions on two different posts so I merged them. Also the subject of the site is commercial lending, business and commercial real estate loans. You are asking me about hosting and grants. I am not really qualified to give advice on either. Having said that, here is my take on your questions:
- Question #1: Hi do you know where I can get free hosting with paypal set up in the web pages all ready? I think that if you are thinking of opening an internet store, at a minimum you must do the following:
- Get a domain.
- Get paid hosting.
- Learn enough html and other things such as CSS to troubleshoot minor stuff.
- Offer more than paypal as a method of payment. At the very least you should also offer to take credit cards.
- Concentrate on a niche market.
Frankly, the whole idea of EMM, which was a new term for me until I did an online search for it seems like one that would give very low returns. Are you aware of how low the conversion is for ecommerce? I have friends that are in ecommerce and they have a conversion rate of “1 sale per every two hundred visitors” and their site is very professionally designed. I also believe that you have to specialize on a particular line of products to make any money. Why would I buy something from you instead of amazon?
I recommend that you visit
http://www.sitepointforums.com if you want to learn about doing this the right way. You can also find a more definite answer to your question there.
- Question #2: I want to know if you heard about Free Money Grants? If so where do I find out about them with out paying a arm and a leg? Grants are given by Government agencies and private philanthropic institutions to people and businesses. However, the overwhelming number of grants are given because there is a social benefit from the work being done by these people or businesses. You might be providing a service to a community that needs it. You might be providing employment and opportunity where there is none. You might be doing research on a problem to better understand it.
I have seen the commercials about money grants and I think that it is a lot of rubbish. The saying “if it sounds too good to be true, it usually is” applies here. These people are only a step above those offering “no-money down” methods of building a real estate empire or those that are offering to make you part of the “multi-billion dollar cash-flow business”.
Bottom line for all of the scams I mentioned: They are all possible to pull off, but the chances of being successful at any of them is minimal. I would say less than 1% or worse.
Ok enough rambling.
