I would appreciate any suggestions for learning material, websites etc.
Commercial Lender

Commercial is not cut and dry as some residential programs and there are many variables. A loan could be proceeding just fine, i.e borrower is cash rich, seller is willing and the property is appraised on point and then out of left field will come some sort of debt service issue, environmental issue etc. One of the most important skills is to manage expectation of all involved. Underpromise & overdeliver. Learn your lender’s programs well, what they do and cannot do and look for the business you know you can place and handle. Manage your relationship with your account exec/ loan consultant. Most do have the power to bend program guidelines and come thru for you if the relationship is there. Feel free to read some of the other things I have posted. Hope that helped!
