Can someone please explain what is meant by a debt equity loan? Does this always apply to homes or is this term used for other types of loans?

I have heard of ”home equity loans” and ”equity loans” both terms are used to mean the same thing usually. However, a lot of other loans could be conceivable called ”equity loans”.

I would need to know the context in which the term was used to venture a guess as to what it means.
