Say you have a $100,000. What would be the best way to generate money through it for a good monthly income? I looked at mutual funds and many of them are awful. It makes more sense to keep money in a CD.

Is there a good way to generate some 17-20+ % ( by loaning it out) a year or am I dreaming? Can one lend this money and get good return with minimal risk? I am interested in having a good monthly income without too many hassles.

I have looked at www.prosper.com and it looks shady.

I have seen some RE investment companies promising 25% a year. Are these scams? Would you become a hard money lender? Is now a good time?

What about investing with a Pay Day Loans? I have never seen them advertise for investors.

Interested in hearing some ideas.

What I would do with it would be completely different from what you would do with it.

My appetite for risk, my assessment of risk, my experience/knowledge, and my desire for a particular return is different than yours.

Prosper is not shady. The problem that Prosper has is that some lenders have unreasonable expectations.

I would probably buy some stock.

Lending is a good place to start. When you are starting out that small however, you should be looking to leverage that money instead of using it directly. I.e. use the cash as part of your net worth to get a warehouse line of credit.
