Let me preface this by saying two things. First of all, I hope "Venture Capitalist" is the right word. Second of all, this "venture" is for an online, .com business.
URL: Jockstocks.com
Background: The site was formed in 2002 by eight people; one investor. Through many trials and tribulations, the site is now down to one of the original owners, and myself. Orren [Founder, Co-owner] pays monthly for the server and deals with the PR of running the site. I, Nick, [Co-owner, webmaster] focus on site enhancements [programming, minor graphics] and server administration.
Current Situation: The Google Adsense ads currently displaying onsite, bring in $50 - $60 a month. The server itself costs $130 a month. As you can see, we are currently operating in the red. We feel that with a small starting capital of $20,000 many things can be accomplished. Without going into too much detail, the following is a small budget plan:
Server Fees: $130/month * 24 months = $1,560.
Advertising Fees: A budget of around $5,000.
Remaining: $13,440.
The remaining balance will go towards paying Orren and I for the next year. Being able to quit my part-time job and devoting a minimum of 20 hours a week is my goal. Orren already devotes 20+ hours a week to the site. With the extra time we hope to accomplish the following tasks:
Site: Redesign it, making it modern and work on ad placement to improve ad revenue.
Ideas: Too many to list. All interested parties should make contact ASAP.
Goals: Draw in more "daily" members, and increase overall usage of the site. Increase exposure of the site and make it profitable.
Thanks,
Nick Mallare
