Hello,
This is my second post asking for help. The first post I received good information and I did contact Indymac like someone in this forum mentioned to me back in Nov. The guy was great and everything I told him he said NO PROBLEM. He was a Sr. Loan Office with Indymac... he reviewed my credit rating and everything came back fine, so everything was a go. When I received his packet, it asked for a bank account of $25,000 for a retired person...which I don't have. He said NO PROBLEM, we'll work around it. Then in Feb... we were still waiting for the apprasier to come out and look at my property. He said that they were very busy but he would call them again.
Two weeks ago I got a phone call saying that my loan officer had been transfered and she was taking over the case. She asked where my $25,000 in reserve was and I told her I didn't have it, which she said was required for a retired person. Another thing she didn't like was I had put down that my land was worth approx $200,000 which she felt was way over rated for just 5 acres. As it turned out she was calling me from the Midwest and didn't have a clue as to the cost of property in Southern California. So, she disqualified me....
Can anyone help me find a loan company that will work with a retired person on SS. I think I menetioned this on my first post or maybe not but the only things I'll be contracting out are the foundation, electrical, septic. The rest will be done by experienced people who are donating there time. I just have to pay for the material. My whole point is to keep the cost way down so I can spend the rest of my life here.
So, where do I go from here? I had no idea this would be so rough.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Bud
