Dear forum board members:

My name is Michael Anders, and I am establishing a business loan brokerage/consultancy in St. Louis, MO. My company will focus upon commercial financing more from a business prospective rather than from a mortgage broker angle. I primarily want to help small to medium sized businesses with loan requests between $200,000 and $5000000 to find lenders who will be able to fund their financing needs. I will be marketing my leads primary from the internet, from referrals, and from some advertisement placements. First, I am seeking to find lenders to do commercial mortgages, accounts receivable factoring, purchase order/inventory financing, working capital loans, and construction loans in a variety of industries. I would like to start establishing my network with lenders now so that I am prepared once I begin receiving loan requests. Second, I would appreciate any advice from experienced lenders, loan officers, loan brokers, etc. It would be great to establish a mentor relationship with someone more experienced to whom I could turn when I need advice. If under reasonable terms, I might be willing to even take this individual on and pay them on a retainer basis. I can be contacted here, or preferably at my email address (mikeanders87@hotmail.com). Thank you very much in advance.

Sincerely,
Michael Anders

Michael,

Good ideas. I suggest you begin with one niche and then expand from there. You could co-broker a few deals or work for a commercial mortgage broker to gain knowledge and experience.

Good luck.
